Steven Lim is the Director of Lian Yick and one of its key founders.
A 2nd generation member of an established family venture, Steven started learning
the ropes of the business since his teens. His entrepreneurial acumen, complemented
by his visionary ambition and passion for the business, has been instrumental in
establishing his reputation as a well regarded industry leader. From a humble family
outfit, Steven has since, together with the other founding members, transformed
Lian Yick into a premium regional business today.
Having directed the business for more than 22 years, Steven is well versed in the
demands and trends of the industry. He constantly seeks to upgrade the standards
of products and services offered by Lian Yick. As a proponent of innovation, he
is a pioneer of new technology in the area of product design and development. He
is amongst the first to introduce safety features as a standard requirement for
marquee structures in Singapore. Every tentage in the Lian Yick inventory is PE
certified. He also re-designed the technical workflow of the company’s operations,
to improve the efficiency and productivity of structural installations. Steven is
also well known for his attention to detail and his ability to assess the unique
characteristics of different terrains in different locations. This serves him well
as a good event partner to consult with for complex and challenging set-ups.
Noteworthy projects that Steven has managed in Singapore and in the region include
the Inauguration Ceremony of the New Prime Minister in Singapore (2004), ZoukOut
Party in Singapore (2002 to 2004), the Chinatown Light-up in Singapore (2000 to
2005), Asia Aerospace in Singapore, Closing Ceremony of the World Trade Organization
Inaugural Meeting in Singapore (1997), Chanel Fashion Show in Macau (2003) and official
Opening of Club Med Bintan Indonesia (1996), amongst others
